Areef is our business manager. As well as running the management aspects of the practice, he will be able to assist you with any administrative problems or queries.

Engagement Manager
John works alongside the Business Manager and is a point of contact for staff and patient queries and concerns. He also administers the practice complaints procedure. John provides leadership and guidance for all staff in partnership with the Business Manager and has specific supervision role of the Reception team.

Dr. Anisa Ahmed is a highly experienced Principal GP Partner at Strouts Place Medical Centre, where she has been delivering exceptional patient care since 2016. With specialised expertise in Women's Health, Maternity Care, and Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Medicine, Dr. Ahmed brings a unique international perspective to her practice. Medical Education & International Experience: Dr. Ahmed completed her medical degree at the prestigious Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. This international medical education provided her with: - Understanding of European healthcare systems - Extensive clinical experience across diverse patient demographics - Multilingual communication skills for patient care. Professional Journey & GP Training Following her European medical training, Dr. Ahmed returned to the UK to complete her postgraduate medical training throughout Essex. As a qualified GP Trainer, she is passionate about medical education. Dr Talat Ahmed is an experienced General Practitioner (GP) in East London, serving patients at Strouts Place Medical Centre in Tower Hamlets, near Shoreditch and Hoxton. He combines everyday patient care with leadership responsibilities as a GP partner, helping to develop services, supervise clinical staff, and drive digital transformation within the NHS. Dr Ahmed studied at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London, following a premedical year at Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. During medical school he completed the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLEs), allowing him to pursue training opportunities in the USA. He also spent time at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he undertook observerships and contributed to research projects. After completing his GP training in West Essex, Dr Ahmed went on to hold several NHS roles, including urgent care and out-of-hours work. He also led the Special Allocation Scheme (formerly the Violent Patient Scheme) for City & Hackney and Tower Hamlets between 2018–2020. He has additional training and professional interests in: • Dermatology and skin conditions • Addiction medicine • Minor surgery • Hair restoration and PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatments • Digital health and AI in healthcare Dr Ahmed remains involved in medical education, delivering occasional lectures and supporting the development of colleagues and trainees. Alongside his clinical work, he is engaged in entrepreneurial and technological innovation, particularly exploring the safe integration of AI and digital tools in general practice and developing robust medico-legal frameworks for their use.

Dr. Jarin Ahmed is an accomplished Principal GP Partner at Strouts Place Medical Centre, bringing extensive NHS experience and specialised expertise in Mental Health, Women's Health, and ENT Medicine to her practice since 2020. Medical Training & Qualifications Dr. Ahmed earned her medical degree from the renowned Norwich Medical School at the University of East Anglia. She completed her foundation training in the East of England Deanery before undertaking GP specialist training through the West Essex Vocational Training Scheme. During this comprehensive training, she gained invaluable clinical experience across multiple NHS Trusts throughout Essex and Hertfordshire. Leadership & Mental Health Expertise As the Primary Care Network Clinical Lead for Mental Health Transformation, Dr. Ahmed spearheads innovative mental health initiatives, ensuring patients receive comprehensive psychological support alongside physical healthcare. Her leadership role demonstrates her commitment to improving mental health services in primary care. Areas of Clinical Excellence Dr. Ahmed specialises in Mental Health Services, where she leads transformation initiatives in primary care mental health. She also provides comprehensive Women's Health care and expert diagnosis and treatment for ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) conditions. Additionally, she is passionate about Medical Education, actively training tomorrow's doctors and healthcare professionals. Commitment to Medical Education Dr. Ahmed is passionate about shaping the future of healthcare through medical education. As part of Strouts Place Medical Centre's teaching team, she actively mentors medical students and trainee doctors, sharing her extensive NHS experience and clinical expertise. Margaret leads our nursing team. She is highly qualified, and can deal with a wide range of conditions and health concerns. She undertakes the majority of our chronic disease reviews, including asthma, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. She works closely with our GPs. She also has expertise in providing Travel vaccinations and advice, childhood and adult immunisations, family planning advice, cervical screening, and wound care.

Social Prescribers
RAHANA BEGUM
Rahana joined the Social Prescribing Service Team in May 2019 and ever since she has been supporting patients with their health and wellbeing needs. Working alongside Clinicians’, such as GPs, Nurses, HCA, Health Visitors and other non-clinical staff at the GP practices in Tower Hamlets. She refers and signposts patients to different services in terms of their non-medical issues. Most importantly since the pandemic, they have had to deal with a high number of benefit support and emergency food parcel delivery for the extremely high risk, vulnerable patients. She ensures that patients are supported by the services they refer them to by following up with the patients and the services in the community. She has strong relationships with patients and with the community volunteer services in Tower Hamlets and beyond. Their service and approach are very limitless and that is why she loves her job!
